The YCC’s English Club provides English-language skills instruction to youth ages 11-15. English Club teaches elementary and intermediate-level English grammar, conversation, writing, and reading skills through entertaining and interactive activities. Topics will range from travel and technology to food, music, and storytelling, and will include opportunities for both individual language skills accomplishment and the development of interpersonal skills through group activities.

English Club will meet once per week for fifteen weeks. Each session will last one hour. English Club activities will include games, activities, discussions, and writing. Each week will focus on a different topic that will teach specific vocabulary. The final week will consist of a Showcase that community members are invited to in order to learn more about the participant’s experiences in the program and celebrate the work of the participants. The Showcase will include a gallery of participant work, performances by participants, and a potluck with food provided by English Club participants and organizers.
