The YCC had the pleasure to host and co-facilitate one of the series of workshops implemented in Gostivar within the Young Men Initiative program. The workshop was attended by high school students coming from the different high schools in our Municipality.

The Young Men Initiative (YMI) is a gender-transformative program aimed at promoting gender equality, preventing violence against women, and engaging young men and boys as allies in these efforts. The initiative recognizes that addressing gender inequality and promoting healthy, non-violent relationships requires the involvement and active participation of men and boys.

YMI was launched in 2009 by CARE International in the Balkans and has since expanded to other countries and regions. The program is based on the understanding that traditional gender norms and stereotypes contribute to violence against women and girls. By working with young men and boys, YMI seeks to challenge and transform these harmful norms, promote gender equality, and create a more inclusive society.

This activity was implemented within the framework of the project "Building healthy lifestyle habits of the boys in Gostivar and Gjorce Petrov" developed in cooperation with CRPM and the local partner organization - Organized Youth Association (OYA) with the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in North Macedonia.
